Hiking
Whether you are staying in a bed and breakfast, a more conventional lodging (hotels or cottages), a unique accommodation (teepees, yurts, caravans, homestay), or even sleeping under the stars, hiking is the specialty of mountain leaders. You can plan your hikes for entire days, or just half a day. This simple activity is ideal to keep you in good health, while discovering natural environments. Hiking is an activity for all people, of all levels of fitness, even the ultimate beginners. You can even hike with a pack donkey to motivate your children!
Snowshoeing
This ancestral mode of transportation on snow has always been used by the people of the Jura mountains. Traditional snowshoes are made from the wood of the hazelnut tree, lined with leather. Today, snowshoes are mostly made of plastic. After becoming a trend in the 1990s, showshoes are the ideal tools to come closer to the natural habitat of highlanders. Your mountain leader will assist you discover their favorite corners, and teach you practical techniques to maneuver your snowshoes safely and autonomously, within the serenity of the wild life.
Mountain biking
With its moderate slopes, the Jura mountains are ideal to practice this activity, famous for its physical and technical qualities, with your families and friends. Once you have gone through a quick recap on how to maneuver your mountain bike, your mountain leader will drive you through miles across various natural spaces of the Jura, in all safety. Electric bikes are also available for rent, to make this activity more accessible and fun. Those of you who thrive on high adrenaline will find your happiness riding down the slopes, which is a specialty of the Metabief and Lelex stations.
Nature interpretation
Mountain leaders are professionally trained to safely lead groups of children and adolescents, as part of school excursions and vacation camp activities. Accredited by national education authorities, your mountain leader can propose you themed outings (water cycle, the forest, mountain agriculture, animal adaptation to high altitude, etc), as well as work with you on specific projects comprising multiple animation sessions, to better suit your educational needs.
Training
With their excellent linkages with the local structures (museums, associations, natural reserves, regional parks), as well as their many developed skills, mountain leaders can propose you training sessions, mini conferences, or slideshows on various themes, such as local history, fauna and flora, geology, or even photography techniques, as well as cooking with wild plants.
Special events and team building
Mountain leaders also work with the business sector. They organize original outings for the businesses in the region (hiking, end of season feast, evening hikes, mulledd wine, etc). Your mountain leader can also organize special events to strengthen your teamwork (orientation courses, roleplays, sport courses, multiple activities raids, etc…).
